Carol Zou is a textile and public artist working in Los Angeles, CA.

My practice approaches artmaking as a transformative, dynamic, and grassroots method of contributing to and shaping the public sphere. I am interested in shaping the built environment through temporary installations, and in shaping the social environment through organizing and educating a constellation of people with similar interests. My interests in physical and social space come together through my individual fiber based installations, and my work as a core member of the public art collective, Yarn Bombing Los Angeles. Individually and collectively, I strive to create work that is civically minded, personally relevant, and necessarily rooted in an ethos of process and dialogue.
